Man in Beavercreek buys $4,000 in gift cards to pay for strangers’ meals
“Food, breakfast sandwiches, coffee, you name it. It was all free,” store manager Samantha Owens said.
She said, he originally tried to purchase a $1,000 gift card through the drive-through Friday. Store employees told him he needed to come inside, and once inside he upped his donation to $4,000 in gift cards.
“I think I probably asked him about a million times, ‘are you positive, are you sure?’” Owens said.
The man said he wanted the store to pay for everyone’s orders until the money ran out.
“He had really just wanted to explain how rough the year was and how he wanted to do any way he could to pay it forward, and this was his best way to pay it forward,” Owens said.
Owens said the man’s donation paid for more than 300 customers’ orders.
